Creating a more connected workspace

Lorenz is one of Europe's leading snack manufacturers. When relocating its headquarters to Offenbach, the company set out to create a workplace that encourages closer collaboration across departments and reflects its brand identity through bold colors and a distinctive visual concept.

Modular Pods for every office need

To support its new office concept, Lorenz used Mute Modular adaptable office system. The company installed twelve Modular Pods in various finishes and sizes, each customized for a specific function.

Unlike conventional pods designed around fixed formats, Modular Pods gave Lorenz the freedom to create spaces tailored perfectly to their needs. Thanks to their configurable wall layouts and a dedicated furniture system that allows each pod to be furnished just like a conventional room, they align seamlessly with the workplace's spatial requirements, ergonomic needs, and overall design vision. As those needs evolve, the pods can be easily refurnished and reconfigured to support changing ways of working.

Distributed across two floors, these soundproof pods provide dedicated areas for focused work, meetings, and international video conferencing, allowing employees to choose the right setting for every task. Thanks to extensive customization options, they became an integral part of the workplace concept, perfectly complementing the office’s bold and vibrant color palette. Rather than fading into the background as purely functional elements, they stand out as visual highlights that help define the character and identity of the new headquarters.

Reflecting identity through design

Finished in Pink, Yellow, Petrol, Ink Blue, and Sage Green, Modular Pods reflect the color-coded workplace concept developed for the new HQ. Each department has its own visual identity, with colors extending throughout the workspace and into the modular rooms. For example, the Sales and Marketing area is characterized by a stronger presence of pink and yellow. Together, these elements create a more structured and cohesive workplace.

Modular Pods configured around the workplace vision

Modular Pods play a central role in the new office layout, supporting a more dynamic way of working. “Whether it’s jumping into a quick video call, stepping away for focused individual work, or gathering with two or three colleagues for a spontaneous chat, there is always a dedicated pod with the right interior setup and equipment—like integrated whiteboards or monitor mounts—to support us”, adds Katja Begrich, Project Lead for the Office Move at Lorenz.

Thanks to their modular design, pods can be easily reconfigured, ensuring the workplace can adapt to changing team and project needs over time. This flexibility allows the office to continuously evolve alongside the company.

"The Modular Pods have become a highly appreciated part of our daily office life, offering our teams the perfect setting for any task. On top of that, they look spectacular: the colors perfectly bring our office identity to life and make them true visual highlights.”
