A Workspace Designed for Growth
SkyNRG is a global leader in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Their Amsterdam office needed to support their rapidly evolving, mission-driven team while reinforcing a sense of identity and purpose.
They envisioned a workspace that not only encourages collaboration and creativity, but also aligns with their sustainability values.
Adaptability Built Around the Team
Mute Modular played a key role in bringing the design vision to life. A 9x3 m unit in a Sage Green finish was placed at the heart of the space, meeting all functional requirements.
Throughout the process, Dutch Deco supported the client with planning, coordination, and marketspecific expertise. Their involvement helped streamline decisions, ensuring a smoother experience and project delivery.
“The modular nature of the system made it easy to adjust and refine the layout as needed, which was a major advantage. It seamlessly integrated with the modern interior, supporting different ways of working,” adds Martin Struijker Boudier, Partner Engagement Manager at SkyNRG.
One of the key reasons for choosing our adaptable room-in-room system was its high-quality sound insulation, which supports effective collaboration by allowing team members to talk and exchange ideas freely. For solo work and calls, the architects added four Jetson office pods.
Designed to Make Work Feel Better
With the new setup, employees report enhanced focus and smoother collaboration.
Mute Modular serves as an elegant visual divider, maintaining an airy atmosphere and preventing sound from traveling across the open space. This balance between openness and privacy has improved the team’s workflow – tasks can be completed without disruption, while meetings and brainstorming sessions remain fully private, notes Martin Struijker Boudier.
With multiple work zones available, each employee can choose the spot that best supports their task at hand, while integrated lighting and ventilation ensure comfort and efficiency throughout the day.
Sustainability at the Core
“The space was envisioned to be a physical manifestation of our commitment to sustainability and our drive to make aviation more sustainable for future generations,” says Martin Struijker Boudier.
Mute Modular strongly supported this vision. The solution is built on a low‑waste philosophy – its interchangeable modules can be reused, reconfigured, or expanded over time, tool-free. This adaptability not only ensures long-term use, but also minimizes waste and CO₂ emissions, significantly reducing the environmental footprint.
The interior embraces a natural aesthetic, inspired by biophilic design. Abundant greenery, wood textures, and soft green tones create a calming environment that feels grounded and innovative.
Ready for the Future
As SkyNRG continues to grow, the setup can be effortlessly reconfigured or expanded to meet evolving needs. This built-in flexibility ensures the Amsterdam office adapts alongside the team, supporting the company’s long-term vision.
The project was delivered together with Mute Architect Consultants and Dutch Deco, our trusted partner in the Dutch market, represented by Jaap Hoens. Their expertise supported every stage of the process.
